Summer 2026 CS PD Options

Whether you are looking to revamp your current curriculum, prepare for a new course, integrate CS into an existing course, or simply connect with a global community of innovators, Summer 2026 offers a wealth of opportunities to grow your computer science practice. From the high-energy workshops of “the Big Easy” at the CSTA Annual Conference to the flexible, virtual courses provided on pdEnroller, this year’s lineup is designed to meet educators where they are.

CSTA Washington has curated a list of premier professional development options—ranging from block-based creative coding to rigorous AP prep—to help you spark curiosity in your classroom this fall. Explore the options below to find the perfect fit for your schedule and teaching goals.

  • CSTA Conference – The CSTA 2026 Annual Conference is a one-of-a-kind professional development experience where you’ll get a chance to connect with fellow CS educators, allies, and our CSTA partners while soaking in the energy of the Big Easy. If you are attending, be sure to visit this website for more info on how to meet other Washington CS educators there.
  • InfoSys Pathfinders Summit – Pathfinders Summer Institute 2026 offers 26 courses from leading computer science and maker ed curriculum providers that align with K–12 CS standards. These PDs will take place virtually from June–August 2026 at different times, dates, and formats, providing K–12 educators scheduling flexibility. Through the InfoSys Foundation, each educator may register at no-cost for one course on a first serve basis.
  • AP Summer Institutes – Teaching AP CS Principles or AP CS A next year?  Join a week-long AP Summer Institute online or near you from June-August. AP CS A and AP CS Principles workshops will be taught from June 29 – July 2 at Newport High in Bellevue, and the Bellevue APSI often provides Washington clock hours.
  • Code.org Workshops – Find a Code.org workshop online or near you
  • BJC PD – For middle and high school teachers using the Berkeley Beauty and Joy of Computing (BJC) curriculum.
  • Microsoft MakeCode Summer Learning – For educators using the MakeCode platform, register for free webinars or week-long courses throughout the summer.

Most of the computer science courses provide Washington STEM clock hours for a small fee.
  • CSTA Courses on Coursera. Many of the events promoted by CSTA are self-paced online courses offered on Coursera. These courses are free to CSTA members. If you are interested in receiving Washington clock hours for completing these courses, please contact washington@csteachers.org before starting the course.
  • FUTURE II. Bellevue College and CSTA Washington are teaming up again this year to present FUTURE II – a professional development event for educators teaching CS-related courses or wanting to integrate CS concepts into existing courses – on June 13. Both the event and up to 4 Washington STEM clock hours are free to all Washington educators.
