How to Join CSTA Washington

Please consider becoming a member of CSTA and CSTA Washington (or renewing your membership). Your support is critical to help CSTA and CSTA Washington build a vibrant community of K-12 computer science educators.

Membership in CSTA and CSTA Washington typically costs $50 annually. This $50 fee is lower than any other professional organization for educators. Further, for a limited time, you can become a member (or renew your membership) for $10 for one year by using the discount code WASHINGTON10.

Traditional instructions are below:

• Log in to your CSTA account.
• Click “Join CSTA” and complete the payment process. Enter a discount code (e.g., WASHINGTON10) if one is provided to lower your membership cost. The video shows the use of a discontinued discount code.
• To confirm that you are a member of CSTA Washington, do the following:
  • Click on “My Account” after you have logged into csteachers.org
  • Click on “Chapters and Affinity Groups” in the left side bar
  • Click on the check box next to “CSTA Washington” (near the bottom of the “Chapters” box)
  • Scroll down to the “Primary Chapter” selection box.   Choose “CSTA Washington” from the dropdown.   As your primary chapter, CSTA Washington will receive $10 from CSTA from your annual membership dues.

Although you may believe that you are currently a member of CSTA and/or of CSTA Washington, please confirm that you are by logging into your CSTA account and clicking on “My Account” and “Chapters and Affinity Groups” as described above. CSTA national membership requirements have recently changed. Further, many CS educators who reside in Washington state become members of CSTA national but never register to become members of CSTA Washington through “Chapters and Affinity Groups.” Once you become a member of CSTA national, membership in CSTA Washington (and any other CSTA Chapter or Affinity Group) is free. 

There is a $50 annual fee to be a member of CSTA and CSTA Washington. There are many membership benefits. Discounts are often available. If cost is an issue, you can also register your e-mail with CSTA for free to receive news and information from CSTA and limited access to the CSTA Community. You can also register as a friend of CSTA Washington for free to receive local CS education news and free/discounted registration and clock hours for CSTA Washington events and professional development.
