Hi Everyone, I’m the Coastal/Peninsula VP for ESDs 113, 114, and 189. I enjoyed meeting a few of you at the many conferences I attended this summer. Please reach out if you have ideas about connecting within our beautiful but huge region. I’m located on I5 up by the Canadian border, but I love to travel especially if there’s water involved.

This will be my 27th year teaching STEAM at the high school level and along the way I’ve had a lot of support from CSTA. In 2023 I became a CSTA Impact Fellow and started to attend the CSTA national conference and our board meetings. I love WA CSTA’s mission to

“Provide community, professional development, and advocacy for Washington educators to help them deliver equitable, engaging, high-quality CS education for all K-12 students that ensures responsible technology creation and use so that everyone can thrive in a world powered by computing.”

and I hope my new role will help others connect with CSTA.

I believe that computer science education is a powerful tool for positive change. I want everyone to get CS education, and I’m dedicated to promoting equity and diversity in my classroom, FBLA chapter, and district. I like introducing coding with game design to combine art, technology, and problem-solving. My students also design and create physical objects using tools like vinyl cutters, laser cutters, and microcontrollers.
I now split my time between my classroom at Sehome High and supporting all the CTE teachers in Bellingham Public Schools as the CTE Teacher On Special Assignment.
