Summer of PD Recap: 3rd Annual PNW Regional CSTA Lunch and Learn

“What did you do this summer?”  We often get this question when we return to school after the summer. It is also the theme for our 3rd Annual PNW Regional CSTA Lunch and Learn on Saturday, August 29, from 12 – 2 pm.

Every year for the past 3 summers, we’ve hosted a “Lunch and Learn” virtual PD on a Saturday at the beginning of the school year, where anyone gets about 3-5 minutes to “share” about something they learned this summer. Your Pacific Northwest regional CSTA chapters are excited to host a virtual gathering to discuss insights and best practices from our summer “breaks”.

We welcome all humans to share their CS education learnings and/or adventures from various conferences over the summer – including but not limited to CSTA, ISTE, SuperQuest, WA-ACTE – or other meaningful PD and learning experiences! 

Lunch and Learn Recap

It was not necessarily a “quiet summer” as several CS educators from across the Pacific Northwest got together to highlight their experiences from various summer conferences and professional developments at our 3rd annual “Back to School” CSTA PNW Lunch and Learn, on Aug 29th.

Comments on the post event survey included the following:

  • Actually I really enjoyed hearing about what was going on at the other conferences, and how much emphasis there is now on cybersecurity.
  • Getting to hear from everyone! I loved that we had so many different topics shared! So cool!
  • Sharing and learning what others learned over the summer
