CS Education and CTE in Washington
Computer Science Education and Career and Technical Education (CTE) have a close and mutually reinforcing relationship in Washington state. More than 85% of computer science course sections — and an even higher percentage of student enrollments — are offered through CTE programs. In addition, Digital Technology is not only recognized as its own career cluster within Washington’s new CTE Career Cluster framework, but is also considered a cross-cutting cluster that supports and connects all other career pathways.
Recognizing the critical role that CTE plays in expanding access to computer science education, CSTA Washington has developed several new dashboards that provide detailed insights into CTE participation and trends across the state:
Using data from these dashboards, CSTA Washington has also published a series of reports highlighting statewide trends and noteworthy findings:

In addition, has started the following initiatives:
- Tracking and reporting on computer science-related activities in CTSOs across Washington.
- Collecting CS-related CTE frameworks and sharing them on this site.
